Alec recommended some additional routes to explore on our motorbikes, and he shared a dram with us whilst we chatted.

My friend and I stayed at Beechwood Lodge for three nights in July. It was the perfect location for folks who want to visit Inverness and the local areas, but... read more don’t want to feel crowded with the hustle and bustle and tourists in the city. Gunta was the perfect host. She was welcoming, generous, kind, helpful, and fun! The room was lovely, with twin beds, a private bathroom, and a wonderful view from the window. Gunta anticipates her guest’s every need! The amenities in the room were great, from the glassware and coffee, to the toiletries in the bathroom, it seemed like there wasn’t a detail she wasn’t thinking about. She even called to get us a last minute dinner reservation in town right after our arrival. The location was great as we were easily able to drive into Inverness and visit Tain to tour the Glenmorangie Distillery. I cannot wait to return as there are hikes and local spots we didn’t make it to this time, but hope to see on our next visit. I cannot recommend Beechwood Lodge enough! It’s fully worth of a 5 star rating! More

Had a 1 night stay recently on a last minute trip to the area. I am admittedly SUPER picky about where I will stay so booking last minute couldve been... read more a bad idea, especially trying to find somewhere dog friendly. However....i have to say even if i had carefully planned where to stay in advance i could not of picked better than this lovely place. The owner was incredibly accommodating of our last minute booking and gave a warm welcome on arrival. The room, i think it was no.2, was spotless. A comfortable king size bed with a view over the burn that runs past, a desk space with treats and tea/ coffee and glasses/ wine glasses/ corkscrew provided and a full size fridge - which i thought showed a great understanding of what guests would want. The bathroom is bright and spacious with large shower and a plethora of towels, and full size selection of toiletries provided.
Room was toasty warm with underfloor heating.
Breakfast was plentiful and of a very good standard.
Really felt that the owner was doing everything she could to make us feel welcome and comfortable which was lovely... felt very looked after. Would definately return if in the area. Didn't really explore Alnyss but it looks like a nice wee place. Handy with shops/ supermarkets nearby.
A great find! More

We stayed at Beechwood Lodge B&B for 1 night on our NC500 road trip. It is the best B&B we have ever stayed in! Gunta is the most wonderful host... read more with great attention to detail - the jug of water at breakfast was garnished with lemon and fresh mint. Our bedroom (room 1) was exceptionally well appointed with an array of products in the bathroom as well as tea, coffee, etc. The views around the lodge are stunning and the comfortable lounge is so relaxing - a real home from home with spoiling! Gunta really goes out of her way to look after you - breakfast is cooked when you come for breakfast (so tasty and fresh) and Gunta’s pancakes with summer berries and a dusting of icing sugar are simply amazing. We made a new friend in Gunta and will be back! More

We are just back from a trip to Alness where we stayed in beech wood lodge for two nights. It was honestly one of the best experiences we have had.... read more Gunta goes over and above for all of the people who stay at her beautiful lodge. She always wanted to make sure we were good and wanted to give us a lovely experience. Nothing is too big of an ask and she made us feel so welcomed and at home.
The house is beautiful and Gunta would light candles while we were having dinner and put n lovely music for my partner and I. Her house is also spotless with beautiful views!
When we have stayed in other places, we have chatted to the owners but I think this is the first time someone was genuinely interested in who we are and where we come from, which was lovely as it made the experience feel even more personal.
Gunta even printed out a map of places to visit nearby and printed out the directions for us which was just so lovely.
I wouldn't think twice about going again and I really hope lots of people book beech wood lodge as it is definitely our favourite!
