“We had such a wonderful long weekend break at Beechwood Lodge thanks to Gunta & Alec who are fantastic hosts, so friendly and welcoming. The room was large and comfortable as was the bed, and they really have thought of everything you might need and breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from. What really made the trip special were the days we spent exploring. Thanks to Gunta & Alec’s local knowledge we saw so much beautiful scenery and went on walks we never would have found by ourselves and for the many people who told us not to go to the Highlands in winter how wrong they were, yes there was some rain but this only added to the magnificence of the rivers and waterfalls, and we had the most amazing boat trip on Loch Ness with blue skies and no hordes of people to share with. The meals that were arranged for us at the best local restaurants for each night was delicious and after that, it was nice to relax at the B&B lounge by the fireplace watching Netflix after a long day walking. Definitely home from home, can’t wait for our next trip as there is so much to see and do.”

“This will be the 4rth year for us to come back to Scotland and Beechwood Lodge, since the first time we fall in love with the Highlands and hospitality from Gunta & Alec. It is a great place to stay for a week or so, comfortable beds and rooms, perfect breakfast with loads of choice. The sitting room is a great addition to the stay, where you can meet other guests or watch a movie or play board games. Nice, quiet and peaceful. In short walk away there is amazing walks in the forest by river and hosts are very knowledgeable of the local area and always happy to help with planning the next day activities and organising the evening meals in local restaurants. Perfect place for a short break to recharge batteries or for a whole holidays 10 – 14 days easily. The whole family loved it and we can’t wait to be back again in October.”

“We just had a most amazing weekend away. It was our friend birthday and we decided to do something different this time. In the first day after an amazing breakfast we went skiing at the Cairngorms, that is only an hour away, but what a view on the way to there and on the way back our evening meal was booked and ready for us. Then the next day after another great breakfast (our favourite was pancakes with the hot fruit sauce) we spend exploring nearby forest and river. It was brilliant, so much fresh air! Last evening we spend with the wine and watching Netflix that we were really surprised to have in our rooms. It was a really good weekend and we will be back again. Can’t wait!”
